Is your Aadhaar card address or name updated wrongly? This is very common in our country, even though you have provided all details properly the data entry guys do some mistake while updating data online. And due to that sometimes we receive Aadhaar card with wrong information updated.
But nothing to worry as you can easily change or update your address / name easily online itself. Yes, while applying for Aadhaar card for the first time, you can not fill up the form online. In some cases, there were special Aadhaar card enrollment campaigns organized. This was happened in my case and my entire family has enrolled for Aadhaar card in my society itself.
This was a quite nice experience as those guys were filling the forms online in front of us and also verifying the details after that for spelling mistakes if any. But for others, they have to visit to nearest Aadhaar enrollment center to apply for new aadhaar card by filling the hand written form, where the chances of any spelling mistake in address or name is very much high.
Steps To Change Aadhar Card Address Or Name Online
So start this process, first of all you have to make sure that your mobile number linked with your Aadhaar card is the correct one. In case you have changed your mobile number or lost your phone, then first you have to change your mobile number linked with Aadhaar card.
After that you can follow these step by step guide mentioned below.
Step 1: First of all you have to visit the Aadhaar update / correction link mentioned below.
Step 2: Provide your Aadhaar number and click on send OTP button. Immediately you will receive the OTP in your Aadhar linked mobile number. Provide the OTP and the verification Text and then proceed to next tab.
Step 3: The next tab is Data Update Request. You should know that you can only update Name, Address, Gender, Date of Birth, Mobile Number and Email ID through this portal. For other updates, please visit Aadhaar Enrollment / Update Center.
Step 4: After updating the data or completing necessary corrections, you have to move to next tab to upload the copy of necessary supporting documents with self signed (self attested).
Step 5: Finally select BPO Service Provider and submit request.
As soon as you submit the request, your information will not be updated immediately as it has to go through a verification process which may take few days of time.
